A Day-To-Day Look Of Life At Park View

Social engagement is an essential aspect of healthy living. We provide a weekly schedule of activities for residents to foster an environment of community. Activity examples include:

  • Attending local high school sporting events

  • Trip to the library

  • Going out to eat

  • Exercise

  • Music performances

  • Holiday celebrations

 

Visiting hours:

Family members and friends are welcome at any time. For the safety of residents and staff the front door locks at 8pm and unlocks at 6am. A visit after 8pm just requires a call to the facility to gain entrance.

 

Transportation:

Park View provides transportation to physician appointments in Lubbock, Amarillo and Littlefield. Additionally, scheduled outings to a restaurant, library, event in Muleshoe or surrounding areas is provided by the facility with a driver and escort.

 

Meal Times:

Breakfast is served 7a-8:30am, lunch 12:00p-1:30pm, dinner 5p-6pm. Family members may purchase a meal for $5.00. Meals are served in the resident’s room, the dining area, or sunroom when a family event is scheduled. The resident may go out to dinner with family or have a meal brought in to enjoy. Please ensure that physician orders are followed related to texture to promote resident safety.

 

Passes:

Family members are welcome to notify nursing and sign the resident out on pass for an event, meal or overnight stay at home. There are regulations from Medicaid and Medicare related to length of time that need to be followed. A resident who is private pay or Medicaid may go out on pass up to 72 hours monthly. A resident on a Medicare stay requiring therapy and nursing care may have a 4-hour pass.

 

Decorating the resident’s room:

Park View encourages families to personalize each room. Family photos with names to enhance communication with friends and staff members, a recliner, chest of drawers, or cherished afghan. When sharing a room, be sensitive to not impact a roommate’s space.

 

Laundry:

Park View provides laundry services at no additional charge. However, family may choose to provide a laundry basket and launder items at home. We ask that you label all clothing items to prevent loss.

 

Vaccines:

Park View provides tb screening upon admission, flu, pneumonia and COVID boosters based upon resident and family preferences. Other vaccinations including shingles and RSV may be requested and provided as well.
